    What is in Iso-Ripped

Whey protein isolate. Iso-Ripped uses two forms of isolate: instantised whey protein isolate, which is processed to mix easily, and hydrolysed whey protein isolate, which is partly broken down into smaller pieces. Each 30 g scoop lists 25 g of protein, which is 83.4 g per 100 g, plus 2,846 mg of leucine as part of its amino acid profile.

How much protein a serve should give. Sports Dietitians Australia (SDA) says a single serve of about 20 to 25 g of protein has been shown to maximally stimulate muscle protein synthesis, and suggests including some protein at every meal and snack through the day. One scoop of Iso-Ripped lands in that range. SDA also notes most athletes reach their daily protein targets from food, so a shake is a convenient top-up rather than a must. To work out your own target, read how much protein per day you need.

The extras. Primabolics adds a 50 mg DigeZyme digestive enzyme blend (alpha-amylase, cellulase, lipase, lactase and protease), 150 mg of sea moss and 150 mcg of chromium picolinate to each serve. These are small additions. The protein is the main reason to buy it.

Sweetener and macros. It is sweetened with stevia and lists 1.1 g of sugars, 78 mg of sodium and 483 kJ per scoop. It is not labelled lactose free.

    Who it suits

    • People who want about 25 g of protein with only around 2 g of carbohydrate per scoop.
    • People tracking macros while cutting who want a lean shake.
    • People who prefer stevia to artificial sweeteners.
    • Anyone topping up protein after training or between meals.

    Who should check first

    • Milk allergy: Iso-Ripped contains milk, so it is not suitable.
    • Lactose intolerance: it is not labelled lactose free, so check with your health professional before use.
    • Other allergies: the V2 label says it may contain gluten, peanut, sulphites, tree nuts, egg, soy and seeds.
    • Pregnancy and children: the label says it is not suitable for children under 15 years of age or pregnant women, and should only be used under medical or dietetic supervision.
    • Kidney disease or a doctor-advised protein limit: talk to your doctor before adding protein shakes.
    • Medication: ask your pharmacist if you take regular medication, as the formula includes chromium picolinate.
    • Drug-tested athletes: check Sport Integrity Australia guidance and the certifier databases yourself. Our guide to supplements for drug-tested athletes explains what to look for.

    How to use Iso-Ripped

Primabolics' directions are short: mix 1 scoop (30 g) with 200 to 300 ml of cold water and shake well.

Primabolics also refers you to the directions printed on your tub, so follow those if they differ. If you mix it with milk, remember the panel figures are for the powder only, and milk adds its own protein, carbohydrate and fat. Store the tub below 21°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, as the V2 label directs.

For timing, SDA's advice is simple: spread protein across your meals and snacks, and have a serve of about 20 to 30 g after training. One scoop does that job.

    How it compares

    • Legit Whey Isolate: lists 25.1 g of protein and 0.6 g of carbohydrate per 32.5 g serve, with 28 serves per 910 g tub, according to Legit Supplements. A bigger scoop with slightly fewer carbs.
    • Next Generation Protein Delicious: a blend of whey isolate, hydrolysate and concentrate with 24 g of protein per 28 g serve (Chocolate). Next Generation says the concentrate gives a fuller texture.
    • Rapid Vegan: a plant-based protein made with organic pea and brown rice protein, for people avoiding dairy.

    Primabolics Iso-Ripped review: our verdict

Iso-Ripped is a strong everyday isolate for people tracking macros: 25 g of protein with about 2 g of carbohydrate per 30 g scoop, sweetened with stevia rather than artificial sweeteners, and twelve flavours across two sizes. It suits cutting phases, post-training shakes and anyone who wants lean numbers without a dull flavour list. The trade-offs are small but real. It is not labelled lactose free, the label lists several may-contain allergens, and the enzymes, sea moss and chromium are minor extras rather than reasons to buy. If you want even fewer carbs per serve, Legit Whey Isolate is the alternative.

    FAQs

How much protein is in Iso-Ripped?

The current V2 label lists 25 g of protein per 30 g scoop, with 2.1 g of carbohydrate and 0.8 g of fat. Older tubs can show slightly different figures, so read the panel on the tub you buy.

How many serves are in each size?

The 750 g tub holds 25 serves and the 1.65 kg tub holds 55 serves, based on a 30 g scoop.

Is Iso-Ripped lactose free or dairy free?

No. It is made from whey, which comes from milk, and it is not labelled lactose free. If you are sensitive to lactose, check with your health professional, or look at a plant protein instead.

Why do some Iso-Ripped tubs look different?

Primabolics has moved to a newer V2 label, which lists DigeZyme enzymes, sea moss and stevia. Depending on the flavour, you may still see the original label. Always go by the nutrition panel on your tub.

    When should I have Iso-Ripped?

After training or between meals both work. SDA suggests spreading protein across the day, with a serve of about 20 to 30 g after exercise.

    Is Iso-Ripped good for beginners?

Yes. It is one scoop in water, the macros are simple, and 25 g of protein per serve is an easy number to plan around.
