It can be frustrating to step on the scale and see no change. While it’s natural to want objective feedback on your progress, body weight shouldn’t be your main focus. Some “overweight” people are healthy, while others with “normal weight” are unhealthy. However, your body fat percentage tells you what your weight is comprised of.   1. Skinfold Calipers Skinfold measurements have been used to estimate body fat for over 50 years Skinfold calipers measure the thickness of your subcutaneous fat — the fat underneath the skin — at certain body locations.   Advantages: Skinfold calipers are very affordable, and measurements can be taken quickly. They can be used at home but are also portable. Disadvantages: The method requires practice and basic anatomy knowledge. Also, some people don’t enjoy getting their fat pinched. Availability: Calipers are affordable and easy to purchase online. Accuracy: The skill of the person performing the skinfolds can vary, impacting the accuracy. Measurement errors can range from 3.5–5% body fat 2. Body Circumference Measurements Body shape varies from person to person, and the shape of your body provides information about your body fat  Measuring the circumference of certain body parts is a simple method of body fat estimation. For example, the US Army uses a body fat calculation that simply requires an individual’s age, height and a few circumference measurements. For men, the circumferences of the neck and waist are used in this equation. For women, the circumference of the hips is also included Advantages: This method is easy and affordable. A flexible measuring tape and calculator are all you need. These tools can be used at home and are portable. Disadvantages: Body circumference equations may not be accurate for all people due to differences in body shape and fat distribution. Availability: A flexible measuring tape is easily available and very affordable. Accuracy: The accuracy can vary widely based on your similarity to the people used to develop the equations. The error rate can be as low as 2.5–4.5% body fat, but it can also be much higher   3. Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) As the name implies, DXA uses X-rays of two different energies to estimate your body fat percentage . During a DXA scan, you lie on your back for approximately 10 minutes while an X-ray scans over you. The amount of radiation from a DXA scan is very low. It’s about the same amount you receive during three hours of your normal life   4. Hydrostatic Weighing This method, also known as underwater weighing or hydrodensitometry, estimates your body composition based on its density  This technique weighs you while submerged under water after exhaling as much air as possible from your lungs. You are also weighed while you are on dry land, and the amount of air left in your lungs after you exhale is estimated or measured.   6. Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) BIA devices detect how your body responds to small electrical currents. This is done by placing electrodes on your skin. Some electrodes send currents into your body, while others receive the signal after it has passed through your body tissues. Electrical currents move through muscle easier than fat due to the higher water content of muscle  The BIA device automatically enters your body’s response to the electrical currents into an equation that predicts your    If you Living close to Springvale and Clyde - Supps247  book it online

Maintain a moderate weight overweight and having obesity with low sex drive and other factors related to reduced fertility. This may be due to hormonal factors, such as low testosterone concentrations. Maintaining a moderate body weight can improve a person’s sex drive, both physically and psychologically. Eating a healthy, balanced diet and getting regular exercise can help achieve this, as well as boost a person’s overall energy levels.

What is shilajit? Shilajit is a sticky substance found primarily in the rocks of the Himalayas. It develops over centuries from the slow decomposition of plants. Shilajit is commonly used in ayurvedic medicine. It’s an effective and safe supplement that can have a positive effect on your overall health and well-being. Here’s a look at eight ways to use shilajit.   Shilajit benefits 1. Alzheimer’s disease Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive brain disorder that causes problems with memory, behavior, and thinking.  The primary component of shilajit is an antioxidant known as fulvic acid. This powerful antioxidant contributes to cognitive health by preventing the accumulation of tau protein.  2. Low testosterone level Testosterone is a primary male sex hormone, but some men have a lower level than others. Signs of low testosterone include: a low sex drive hair loss loss of muscle mass fatigue increased body fat 3. Chronic fatigue syndrome Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a long-term condition that causes extreme tiredness or fatigue. CFS can make it difficult to go to work or school, and simple everyday activities can prove challenging. Researchers think that shilajit supplements may reduce symptoms of CFS and restore energy.   Based on these results, naturally boosting your body’s mitochondrial function with shilajit supplements may help improve energy levels. 4. Aging Since shilajit is rich in fulvic acid, a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, it may also protect against free radicals and cellular damage. 5. High altitude sickness 6. Iron deficiency anemia Iron deficiency anemia can result from a low-iron diet, blood loss, or an inability to absorb iron. Symptoms include: fatigue weakness cold hands and feet headache irregular heartbeat Shilajit supplements, however, may gradually increase iron levels.   7. Infertility Shilajit is also a safe supplement for male infertility. In one studyTrusted Source, a group of 60 infertile men took shilajit twice a day for 90 days after meals. At the end of the 90-day period, more than 60 percent of the study participants showed an increase in total sperm count. More than 12 percent had an increase in sperm motility. Sperm motility refers to the ability of the sperm in a sample to move adequately, an important part of fertility. 8. Heart health Shilajit as a dietary supplement may also improve heart health. Researchers tested the cardiac performance of shilajit on lab rats. After receiving a pretreatment of shilajit, some rats were injected with isoproterenol to induce heart injury. The study found that rats given shilajit prior to cardiac injury had fewer cardiac lesions.

Diosgenin is an extract of wild yam but also found in ginger and fenugreek. Itelicits a broad range of beneficial effects on training and displays somepromising potential to enhance athletic performance. Much like turkesteroneand ecdysterone, diosgenin is able to encourage lean phenotype by actingdirectly in muscle and fat tissues and is a relatively underutilised natural plantsteroid. Diosgenin enhances the production of DHEA, an androgen that canencourage GLUT-4 translocation (sugar uptake into muscle cells as an energysource). Diosgenin works directly in muscle fibres and also encourages AMPKactivation, which increases metabolism, enhances utilisation of fat as anenergy source via fatty acid oxidation and heightens insulin sensitivity.
