Free Supplement Taste Tests for Sports Clubs Near Reservoir

Table of Contents

Supps247 Reservoir invites local sports clubs in Melbourne's north to book a free supplement taste test at a training night or a home game. Players and coaches try protein shakes and electrolyte drinks, ask questions about labels and caffeine, and the club gets shakers, in-store gift cards and freebies for the squad. This guide explains how it works, what your club gets, and some simple team nutrition tips for the season.

The store is Supps247 Reservoir, Shop 21A, Summerhill Shopping Centre, 850 Plenty Road, Reservoir.

    What your club gets

    • A free taste-test session at your training night or a home game, run by the Supps247 Reservoir team. There is no cost to the club.
    • Shakers, gift cards and freebies for players: Supps247 gift cards to use in store, plus product freebies for the squad.
    • Your club in our store. Send us your club logo or poster and we display it in the Reservoir store, so shoppers can see the local clubs we work with.
    • Posters for your club rooms. Supps247 offer posters you can put up at the club on game days and at events.

    What happens at a session

We bring a range of products for players and coaches to try, matched to your sport and the time of year. For most clubs that means protein shakes and electrolyte drinks. For adult squads we can also bring pre-workout to try. Players can ask about flavours, what the label means, how much caffeine is in a serve and how to work out the price per serve.

To set a date, we need a few details:

    • Two or three training nights or game days that suit you
    • Roughly how many players and coaches will be there
    • Whether you train indoors or outdoors, and if there is power nearby
    • Any allergies or dietary needs in the group (for example milk, soy or gluten)

    Which clubs can book

We are working with community clubs close to the store first, then moving further out. That includes clubs in Reservoir, Preston, Kingsbury, Bundoora, Thomastown, Lalor, Macleod, Heidelberg, Thornbury, Northcote, Coburg and nearby suburbs.

Any community sport is welcome: Aussie rules, soccer, rugby union and league, netball, cricket, basketball and more. Senior squads, social teams and masters teams can all book.

Junior clubs and players under 18

For junior players it is food first. Athletics Australia's 2026 supplement policy says supplement use by athletes under 18 should only happen under the supervision of a dietitian or doctor, and that performance supplements should not be used by anyone under 16.

So for junior clubs we run the session for coaches, parents and senior players, and at the session we do not offer pre-workout, caffeine products or creatine to junior players. It is still a good chance for parents to ask questions about labels and what is worth buying.

Simple team nutrition for the season

A taste test is about finding products you like. These basics matter more than any one product.

Stay hydrated when it is hot

Sweat loss goes up as the temperature and humidity rise, and fluid you do not replace can leave you dehydrated. Start training well hydrated, drink during long sessions, and rehydrate with fluid and electrolytes afterwards. Our hot weather hydration guide has the detail, and you can browse hydration and electrolytes.

    Recover after training

Sports Dietitians Australia suggests making the most of the first 60 to 90 minutes after exercise when you have a quick turnaround before your next session. Aim for quality carbohydrate, some lean protein, and fluid with electrolytes. A normal meal can do the job too. A protein shake is an easy option when you are short on time; see how much protein you need each day and our protein powder range.

    Creatine and caffeine (adults only)

The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) puts creatine and caffeine in Group A of its Sports Supplement Framework, which means strong evidence for use in specific situations in sport. That is not a reason for everyone to take them. If you are an adult and want to try caffeine, check how much is in one serve and read our pre-workout caffeine guide first. You can browse creatine online or ask us in store.

If your competition tests for drugs

If your league tests, or you play at a level covered by an anti-doping policy, choose batch-tested products (for example HASTA or Informed Sport) and check the batch number on your tub. Our guide to supplements for drug-tested athletes explains how.

If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or take medication, check with your doctor before using supplements.
