FAQs

How much caffeine is in one scoop?

Each scoop has 250 mg of caffeine anhydrous plus 100 mg of di-caffeine malate. Redcon1's label states the di-caffeine malate provides 70 mg of caffeine, so a full scoop gives about 320 mg. The Better Health Channel describes 400 mg a day or less as acceptable for the general population, so skip coffee and energy drinks on training days.

Is Total War suitable for beginners?

It is a high-stimulant formula. The directions say to start with half a scoop to check your tolerance and never take more than one scoop a day. If you are new to pre-workouts, our guide Pre-Workout for Beginners covers lower-caffeine options.

When should I take it?

Drink it about 30 minutes before training, mixed with 120 to 180 mL of chilled water. Do not take it within a few hours of bedtime, as the caffeine can keep you awake. Learn more in What is Caffeine?

Why do labels show different ingredients?

Redcon1 has released more than one version of the label. Some list 1 g of agmatine sulfate and others 1 g of beetroot extract, alongside the same citrulline, beta-alanine and caffeine amounts. Check the panel on your tub for the exact formula.

Is it suitable for drug-tested athletes?

The labels we checked do not mention batch testing. Athletes who are drug tested should choose batch-tested products, for example HASTA or Informed Sport certified, and check with their sport before using any pre-workout.

Label details checked against the Redcon1 Total War label panel on 9 October 2026. Formulas can change, so always check the label on the product you buy.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use.
