FAQs
How much caffeine is in one serve?
Each serve contains 130 mg of tea leaf extract as the caffeine source. Published figures for the caffeine this provides differ between about 100 mg and 125 mg, so check the panel on your tub for the exact amount and count it toward your daily caffeine.
How is it different from regular Essential Amino 9?
Both versions share the same base: 7.5 g of EAAs including 5 g of BCAAs, plus a 500 mg electrolyte blend. The + Energy version adds tea leaf extract for caffeine, while the regular version is stimulant free and can be used at night.
How many serves are in a tub?
Rule 1 sold Essential Amino 9 + Energy in 30 serve tubs, and the Juicy Grape tub is listed at 345 g. Check the serving size printed on your tub, as the scoop size was not available from the brand when we checked.
When should I take it?
Have it before or during training. The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements notes caffeine is usually taken 15 to 60 minutes before exercise, and that it can cause insomnia and restlessness, so avoid it late in the day if you are sensitive.
Label details checked against Rule One Proteins Australia (Essential Amino 9 base formula) and published product listings on 9 October 2026. Formulas can change, so always check the label on the product you buy.
