FAQs
Is 1,000 mg of vitamin C too much?
The US NIH sets an upper limit of 2,000 mg a day for adults, counting food, drinks and supplements together. One tablet a day, as the label directs, stays under that. Taking too much vitamin C can cause diarrhoea, nausea and stomach cramps.
What are the rose hips and bioflavonoids for?
Each tablet includes 25 mg of rose hips powder and 25 mg of citrus bioflavonoid complex alongside the vitamin C. NOW adds them as complementary plant ingredients. The 1,000 mg of vitamin C itself comes from ascorbic acid.
Is it vegan?
NOW lists Vitamin C-1000 tablets as vegan, halal, kosher and non-GMO. The label states the product is not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish or tree nut ingredients, though the facility handles them.
How long does a bottle last?
The label serve is 1 tablet daily, so the 100 tablet bottle lasts 100 days and the 250 tablet bottle lasts 250 days when taken as directed. Keep the lid tight and store the bottle somewhere cool and dry.
Label details checked against NOW Foods on 9 October 2026. Formulas can change, so always check the label on the product you buy.
Always read the label and follow the directions for use.
