FAQs

Should I take one serve or two?

The label allows 2 tablets once or twice daily, which is 200 to 400 mg of magnesium. Australia's Nutrient Reference Values set an upper level of 350 mg a day for magnesium from supplements, so one serve a day stays under it. See our magnesium guide for more.

What happens if I take too much?

Diarrhoea is usually the first sign of too much supplemental magnesium, and it is the effect the Australian upper level is based on. If you notice loose stools, cut back to one serve a day.

How much magnesium do adults need?

The recommended dietary intake is 400 mg a day for men aged 19 to 30 and 420 mg from 31, and 310 mg for women aged 19 to 30 and 320 mg from 31. That includes magnesium from food.

Is it vegan?

Yes, according to NOW. The tablet coating is plant based (hypromellose and sunflower lecithin), and NOW lists the product as vegan, halal, kosher and non-GMO. It is made without wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nut or sesame ingredients.

Label details checked against NOW Foods on 9 October 2026. Formulas can change, so always check the label on the product you buy.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use.
