I began to going to the gym to get in shape, I found I had a passion for the sport. Then was encouraged by Paul Jayilian (Empire Fitness Rosebud) to compete, he could see the potential in me.   How you long u take prepare for your comp ? Total cut began 14 weeks out, but spent most of the year trying to gain extra muscle tissue. What do you find the hardest training or diet and why ? • I struggled with either at different stages Training can become less enjoyable and more of a required task. Especially when not getting much food in, although it was the most enjoyable to challenge myself during this time. • Dieting was ok for the most part, you tend to accept that you cannot eat whatever, whenever. Hunger is just a state of mind and food is always treated as   Who would you like to say thank you ? I would like to thank my wife for being there for me through the good and bad times. Paul Jayilian for his undeniable faith and efforts he put into me. He is definitely a world class coach. Posing Coach – Callum Hinze, he is fantastic at what he does.Supps 24/7 Crew for always pumping me up and being there when I needed a chat... (Sunny, Pete, Gill).what is your next plan? Next is to put some more muscle on, I have room to grow in my weight class. 2023 is going to be an even better year. Although 2022 has been very successfu. Will you be competing overseas any time soon? If the opportunity presented itself I wouldn’t knock it back. What kind of training you prefer? I prefer High Intensity weight training, although I did develop a love hate relationship with the stepper during prep. What message you would like to give to new Athletes ? Prepare yourself mentally, do your research to make sure you understand what you willbe facing. Most of the battle is psychological and many are not ready for it. Most importantly, maintain healthy communication and relationships with family. They may not understand everything but they are you number one support. What type of supplement do you prefer during comp and on off season ?I use Creatine year round, pre workout to push me that extra. Whey Protein to help hit protein targets and make delicious snacks. Super greens to keep nutrients high when dieting is important to me.

We don't get to see many natural strongman but Thee is one of those few exceptions and quite good in what he does. Handelling a full time job and competition prep, Thee is dedicated to whatever he does and it shows.     Thee doesn't let his size affect his other hobbies. He recently climbed the Lobuche Peak in Nepal which rises upto 6119m. In our opinion Thee  is the strongest guy to ever climb Lobuche Peak.     Instagram - @thee_tank

Paul Jayllian - Not just a Body Builder

So…you thought Paul Jayilian is “only a body-builder”…..well, think again.   In a previous life Paul and his brother, George owned a pizza shop in Frankston, but with the support from his wife and four children Paul was able to realise his dream.  He is now the owner and coach at  Empire Fitness gym, where he has supported countless athletes of all ages and experience to also reach their fitness goals.   Jayilian was born in Lebanon and came to Australia as a young boy. He was bullied at school because he struggled to speak English. This led him to take up kickboxing, which he did for 12 years until quitting to satisfy his parents who were worried he’d get hurt.  Jayilian joined a gym in 2005, discovered bodybuilding and won a string of state and national titles, including the pinnacle, victory in the world-renowned Arnold Classic. With his exuberant and contagious smile, his dedication, and extraordinary and extensive knowledge of general fitness, nutrition, recovery, martial arts, supplementation, balance and coordination, Paul has become a truly successful coach and is admired by many amongst his peers.     When not enjoying time with his family you can find Paul at his new state-of-the-art facility at 1073-1075 Point Nepean Road, Rosebud or give him a call on (03) 5981 2487.  The gym is open 24 hours 7 days a week.  I am sure Paul will be able to help you with any questions or concerns you may have about your fitness journey y

What ever Carmel lacono cook on my cheat day Most common pieces advice you give to people? 1. Take time to know yourself. “Know thyself” said Aristotle. When you know who you are, you can be wise about your goals, your dreams, your standards, your convictions. Knowing who you are allows you to live your life with purpose and meaning. 2. A narrow focus brings big results. The number one reason people give up so fast is because they tend to look at how far they still have to go instead of how far they have come. But it’s a series of small wins that can give us the most significant success. 3. Show up fully. Don’t dwell on the past, and don’t daydream about the future, but concentrate on showing up fully in the present moment. How do you ensure you stick to your diet? Just always remember why we started .
