Legit Creatine Monohydrate: powder or capsules?

Creatine monohydrate is in Group A of the AIS Sports Supplement Framework, its highest evidence level, and the ISSN creatine position stand calls it the most effective supplement for high-intensity training capacity and lean mass. Most people do well on 3 to 5 g a day, every day, including rest days.

The Legit creatine powder is as simple as it gets: one 5 g scoop of micronised creatine monohydrate with nothing else added. The 1 kg bag gives 200 serves and works out at about $0.40 a day, which is why it is such a popular choice. The 300 g bag is handy if you just want to try it.

The Legit creatine capsules suit people who hate mixing powder or want something for travel. Legit does not publish the creatine content per capsule online, so check the label for the dose per 3-capsule serve, and expect to pay more per day than for powder. Legit whey: Whey Isolate vs Whey Protein

Legit Whey Isolate gives 25.1 g of protein per 32.5 g scoop with just 0.6 g of carbs and 0.8 g of fat, and 2,640 mg of leucine in the published amino acid profile. It suits cutting, or anyone who finds regular whey heavy, because isolate is lower in lactose (though not lactose free).

Legit Whey Protein is a blend of whey concentrate, whey isolate and milk protein concentrate, with 23.4 g of protein per 30 g scoop of Chocolate Milkshake. It is labelled Australian made and costs less per serve, so it is the better pick if you are bulking or on a budget. Note that the 5 lb size was sold out at the time of writing.

Both work for building muscle. The ISSN protein position stand suggests 1.4 to 2.0 g of protein per kg of body weight a day for most people who train, and a shake simply helps you reach it. Compare more options in our best WPI guide.

    Legit pre-workout: Pump Stim Free

Legit Pump is caffeine-free and built around L-citrulline, beta-alanine, taurine, arginine AKG, agmatine sulfate, L-norvaline and grape seed extract, with Himalayan pink salt. You can take one 8 g scoop or two, up to two servings a day. It suits evening training, people who avoid caffeine, or stacking with a stim pre for extra pump.

One honest catch: the label does not list the amount of each ingredient, so you cannot check it against research doses the way you can with a fully disclosed formula. Legit's stimulant pre-workouts are not covered in this guide. If you want a stim pre, compare fully dosed options in our best pre-workout guide.

    Triple Mag and other extras

Legit Triple Mag combines magnesium glycinate, citrate and amino acid chelate for 274 mg of elemental magnesium per 2 capsule serve. That sits under the 350 mg a day upper level for magnesium from supplements in the NHMRC nutrient reference values. Many people like it as part of an evening routine, but the AIS places magnesium in Group C for sports performance, so think of it as a top-up for your diet rather than a training aid. If you have a medical condition or take regular medication, check with your GP before taking magnesium.

Which Legit product should you buy?

    • New to supplements: Legit Creatine Monohydrate powder. It has the strongest evidence and the lowest cost per day.
    • You want a protein shake: Whey Isolate for a lean shake, Whey Protein for value.
    • You train at night or avoid caffeine: Legit Pump.
    • You hate mixing powders: the creatine capsules, at a higher cost per day.

Our pick is the Legit Creatine Monohydrate 1 kg: one scoop a day, nothing added and great value per serve. Compare it with other brands in our best creatine guide, or see every Legit Supplements product and our full creatine range.

    FAQs

How much Legit creatine should I take a day?

One 5 g scoop a day is the label serve, and it sits within the 3 to 5 g a day that the ISSN suggests for most people. Take it every day, including rest days, with water, a shake or your pre-workout. Timing matters far less than taking it consistently. You do not need to load, although loading can raise muscle creatine a little faster.

    Is Legit creatine micronised?

Yes. Both the Legit creatine powder and the Legit creatine capsules are labelled as micronised creatine monohydrate. Micronised simply means the powder is milled finer, so it mixes more easily in water and is less gritty. It is still creatine monohydrate, the form with the most research behind it, and the powder has nothing else added.

Are Legit creatine capsules as good as the powder?

Both are creatine monohydrate, so they work the same way when you take enough each day. The difference is convenience and cost. Capsules need no mixing, but you pay more per day, and Legit does not publish the creatine content per capsule online, so check the label to see how much you get from the 3-capsule serve compared with a 5 g scoop of powder.

What is the difference between Legit Whey Isolate and Legit Whey Protein?

Legit Whey Isolate is mostly whey protein isolate, with 25.1 g of protein, 0.6 g of carbs and 0.8 g of fat per 32.5 g scoop. Legit Whey Protein blends whey concentrate, whey isolate and milk protein concentrate, with 23.4 g of protein per 30 g scoop of Chocolate Milkshake. Isolate is leaner and lower in lactose, while the blend costs less per serve.
