Good to know
- Vitamin B6 can cause nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) in some people, especially at high doses or over a long time. Stop taking it and see your healthcare professional if you get tingling, burning or numbness.
- One capsule gives 31 mg of vitamin B6. Australia's current upper level of intake for adults is 50 mg a day from all sources (NHMRC, 2006), and NHMRC is reviewing it. Europe's food safety authority set a lower limit of 12 mg a day in 2023.
- Check the labels of your other supplements, such as multivitamins, magnesium and energy products, as many also contain vitamin B6.
- For healthy adults 18 years and older. Talk to your healthcare professional before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take medication or have a medical condition.

FAQs
Why does the label say 50 mg and 31 mg?
50 mg is the weight of the pyridoxal-5-phosphate in each capsule. 31 mg is the part of it that counts as vitamin B6. The rest of the weight is the phosphate part of the molecule.
How is P-5-P different from regular vitamin B6?
Most vitamin B6 supplements use pyridoxine hydrochloride, which the body converts to P-5-P. This product supplies P-5-P directly. Both forms count towards your total vitamin B6 intake.
How long does a bottle last?
240 days at the label's 1 capsule a day.
