Nattokinase is an enzyme extracted from a Japanese food dish called Natto which is made from fermented soybeans. Nattokinase is produced by the bacterium acting on the soybeans during the fermentation. It is composed of 275 amino acids and is one of the most active functional ingredient of natto. In alternative medicine it is often used as a clot-buster and blood thinner.
